All About THC

THC is something that you probably heard about because of the effects it gives you when you smoke weed. However, this is something that offers a lot of benefits, and this is something that is one of the most prevalent cannabinoids out there. While it isn’t seen in hemp plants sometimes, this is something that is still really potent, and s responsible for the sensation of feeling high, and is why it’s not legal in a lot of places.

Typically, the properties of this are usually used for recreational reasons, but this is something that also has medicinal benefits too, and this works together with CBD in order to create what’s called the entourage effect, which is synergy between the flavonoids, cannabinoids, and terpenes, which help to modulate and control the different properties of this. There are also therapeutic benefits of THC that are studied, and something that will help with the extensive knowledge, e and is something that offers plenty of vital reactions and functions to this, making It systematic to study.

Synthesis

This is something that works with the cannabinoids in the body and their receptors.  This works with the terpene phenols, which share similar compounds, which are called terpenes along with phenols. The origin of these cannabinoids is found through olivetolic acid, a phenol, and also a compound named geranyl pyrophosphate, which after it reacts with CBGA, it then creates the precursor to the chemical THC, and other chemicals too.

Tis was first found by Yechiel Gaoni and Dr. Raphael Mehoulan in Israel back in 1964. This was discovered in Lebanese Hash.  THCA is basically created from the THCA enzyme synthase along with CBGA, which is something that’s also found in CBCA, CBDA, and THCA, and this is basically converted through synthases, and then, it creates THCA.  When it’s heated up, it’s then turned into a not an acid, so it loses the A, and it loses that carboxyl attached to this, which is what gives it this psychoactive element. This is also found when certain temperatures are hit during some periods of time. this is also why when you smoke it, it make you feel high, but not when you say,, eat a piece of cannabis

There are also compounds called delta-8, which is basically a similar type of isomer to delta-9. It also has the same formula, but there is a small change to this in the positioning of this, especially in where the double bond occurs, and this means that it has certain kinds of other properties, especially psychoactive results.

Why does cannabis create THC though? Well, this is considered a means of defense against those that try to harm it, and also protects it from the UVB rays of the sun, and also protects itself from microbes, especially bacteria. It may also be used as well to protect itself from other fungi too, although the UVB and pest protection are the common reasons.

The UVB explanation is definitely a plausible one since it does grow well in places that get a ton of sun, and when it hits that high point, it does need some protection, so the trichomes will secret the substances needed.

It does cause a lot of different benefits to the body though. For example, it can help with altering the cerebral cortex and memory, help stimulate appetite, help with the brain stem and control vomiting and pain, and so much more. it also offers euphoric feelings as well, and it can be something that a lot of people do enjoy with this compound, and the benefits it has too.

Is CBD Safe for kids?

Some children have conditions and they may wonder if CBD is safe for them to use. Here, we’ll go over whether it’s safe for children to use, and some of the conditions surrounding this as well.

CBD for Kids

There are a few reasons for people to consider using CBD to help kids.  There are some studies that have looked at this. First and foremost, anxiety is something that does have CBD as a possible way to treat the condition.  There is some studies that noticed that if you do take CBD to help with this, do be mindful of other treatments as well.

Right now, there is some research that says that anxiety can be treated with this, but the ADHD research for CBD is very sparse, and it’s not conclusive. Right now, there is no major difference between those who used it, and those who did not. However, for epilepsy, it does help, and it can help possibly improve some of the treatment—resisting conditions, and it can definitely improve a lot of this.  There were some results which did show that there was a difference between those who had CBD and those who don’t, and it also did have less adverse results as well.

So is it Safe for Kids?

This is something that we can’t totally answer, simply because of the lack of research related to CBD. On the outside, it seems safe enough, in that it has a good safety profile for a child, and even the WHO does say that it does have minimal risk factors in this. However, there is some research which came out recently that noticed that CBD does have a link directly to an enzyme count that’s higher within the liver, and this is preliminary research, and was conducted on some of animal subjects rather than actually on human people that participated in this.

It’s something that doesn’t really have a human base to it, but it’s still something to be a little bit cautious about. However, but also keep in mind that it is random in the way that it’s used, and it’s best if you stay cautious of this, since this is something that’s still being studied. It’s best to ensure that there isn’t any breastfeeding occurring if you take this, and if you’re pregnant you should also not worry all that much about taking this, since it can impact the child.

You also should not give this to infants and babies, since there are effects which are unknown in this. However, there are some CBD medications that are actually safe for kids to use.  Epidolex, which is CBD-based, is authorized in many countries to help with the treatment of different epilepsy conditions, especially if the child is drug-resistant in their condition itself.

So there might be a few instances where you can use this for the treatment of their condition, but it’s best if you do discuss this with a doctor before you jump into using this. They can help you figure out the right thing to use, and from there, you can always try it as well to see if there is anything else which might help.

While CBD is something tons of adults absolutely love, there are a lot of concerns about giving it to kids, simply because there isn’t a ton of information on this. It’s very important that for those who do use CBD for kids tat they do the research necessary, and also to look at some of the other aspects that go along with this as well.

Managing Pain with Cannabis

Pain is something that’s quite broad in the diagnosis, with some of them occurring within the CNS of the body, and it involves the improper processing of pain signals. Sometimes, this is resulting from injury, but there are sometimes other causes that aren’t very known. Depending on the person that’s there, pain is something that’s localized to tiny parts of the body, or is widespread, and the pain typically is a lot more constant. The central pain can sometimes impact the routine of another person, and drastically impact the quality of life that’s there.

Some patients who have centralized pain discuss with their doctor the types of treatments that they have. Currently, the main treatment is pain medications, but the problem is, sometimes they offer almost no relief to the pain that’s there.  Another thing that happens too, is they will grab these to treat it, resulting in more chances for addiction.

What if there was a way to relieve this without the side effects?  There is, and that’s in the form of medical cannabis. Did you know that over 60% of the users of medical cannabis take this to help relieve some sorts of pain, and the symptoms of this? This is something that’s become incredibly therapeutic and is part of the reasons why a lot of places are allowing medical cannabis to be used.

Most of the time, CBD, or both CBD and THC are good for treating pain in ways where there are problems with doing so. Another crazy thing? Is that it does decrease the need for opioids, and it lowers the chances of death, overdose, and the like. This is especially apparent compared to states that don’t have cannabis legalized.

There are many that use medical cannabis to treat chronic pain conditions, including fibromyalgia, and some might have symptom improvement because of this.

This is mostly in the places where the pain receptors are, decreasing their levels. And the body will use this to naturally help with this.

How to get It

Currently, not every state offers medical cannabis for pain, but there are now more places than ever before. The best way to get this, is to discuss this with your doctor, let them know that the normal medications that are there aren’t cutting it, and ask if you can use this as alternative medicine. However, if the doctor still refuses, seek out specialists that allow this, in order to get relief from the pain that you’ve got from cannabis.

If you have a doctor that’s a little bit on the fence about this, bring in a pain journal, discuss the pain that’s there, and even journal how medical cannabis has helped you with pain. You should definitely discuss this with a doctor, to get the right needs.

THC or CBD?

This is a question a lot of people have, especially after they’ve gotten the consultation and they’ve gotten the diagnosis. High THC is great for relieving pain, but the downside to them, is they can be incredibly psychoactive, and aren’t the best way to relieve pain.

Hybrid products that contain both THC and CBD are some of the best for treatment in the long term, as they can reduce pain and inflammation naturally, without making you deal with the overly psychoactive aspects of this.

The cool thing about cannabis is that there are tons of ways to get the benefits that you want with this type of product. If you haven’t found the ideal type of cannabis product, continue looking, and see for yourself the benefits that it offers.
