Extraction Methods for CBD Oil

There are different ways that CBD oil gets used to be added as an extraction, and there are different factors that determine this, usually, the effectiveness, and the safety of this. In this, you’ll learn about the different methods of extraction, along with some of the safety things to concern whenever you choose a certain method.

CO2

This is one of the most common, and usually, it uses solid, liquids, and gasses in order to help with this. CO2 when you have it in the natural state, is very good at handling low temperatures, and super high pressure, creating a liquid that hits a state that’s supercritical. This causes the fluid to get heated up a little bit, increasing the pressure so that it causes supercritical mixtures of CO2 to be there.

This, of course, then causes a chamber to dissolve the oils that are there and other flavors from cannabis that are there. This chamber gets further maintained at pressures that are low enough to offer a liquefied type of state for this. This causes it to be supercritical, then gets pumped to vessels that are separated, offering temperature and pressure to move into different layers that are there, and then, you put the mixture into yet another chamber to revert the CO2 back, and this leaves just the oil, and the CBD that you want from this.

Winterization

There is also winterization, which basically separates out the compounds not wanted, and usually, this involves getting rid of the lipids, the fats, and all of the other excess that’s there.

It’s then put into an alcohol, stirred in a vigorous manner, and then, thrown into a freezer for the night. Then, the next day they take out the mixture, put this into a funnel, and then, it’s put onto a filter paper to get rid of the compounds, and then, after filtering, the heat gets applied. It takes a few uses before the oil is created.

Liquid Solvent

This is one that works similar to how CO2 does, and it utilizes butane, ethanol, isopropyl, and also hexane in order to get rid of the flavor and the oils and leave behind just cannabis.

This is cheaper than other means, but this also comes with the downside of the solvents making them bitter, since there are impurities such as chlorophyll there that get nasty. There are also different adjustments that are there, in order to reduce the occurrence of this as well.

Steam

Finally, we’ve got steam. This is where the plant gets separated directly from where the cannabis is, through the use of steam. It begins with the plant being put into a flash made of glass, and there is an inlet that connects to other containers that are there, filling this up with water. It’s under the plant flash, and then, there’s an outlet with a condenser there.

The water boils, the steam gets into there, separating out the vapors that are usually there. They get condensed into tubes and usually it becomes oil and water together.

It’s further distilled and collected, extracting this oil from the water. This is the least efficient, and usually it doesn’t give the exact CBD that’s extracted. It also requires a lot more plants than other types.

Then of course if the steam becomes too hot, it’s not good in the properties of such. These are the main extraction methods, and while some are used more often than others, a lot are used to help with extracting cannabis to create the solvents you can use right now!

Your endocannabinoid system and Medical Cannabis

Back in 1964, Raphael Mechoulam  found two important cannabinoids, THC, along with CBD, and this also soon led to another discovery in 1988, called the endocannabinoid system. These Phyto cannabinoids—plant cannabinoids, were able to bind with the CB1 and the CB2 receptors, respectively, in order to offer stability, or homeostasis, within your body, offering better organ function before.

With over 100 different cannabinoids within this, it can help with everything from inflammation, spasms muscle pain, and a whole lot more.

What the system is

Your endocannabinoid system helps with the body functions, making sure that they’re optimal through regulating the energy levels, the mood, immunity, blood pressure, how we manage stress, pain, hunger, and a whole lot more.

While the endocannabinoid system is still kind of new, you need to make sure that you understand that research is something that’s critical for keeping the bodily functions at the optimal level.

There are three main parts to this.

The first is the endocannabinoids, which are created through our body, expressed through the CNS and the PNS within our body. they also provide signals to the cells in the nerve areas, in order to ensure that everything is functioning correctly.

Next you’ve got the cannabinoid receptors, which are within the body, embedded within the cell membranes, and the Phyto cannabinoids found within this, known as THC and CBD, do attach to the receptors within the ECS as well.

The first is your CB1 receptors, which are found within the CNS, and this is usually within the basal ganglia, the cortex, the cerebellum, and the hippocampus.

The second thing is the CB2 receptors, which are found within the tonsils, white blood cells, and your spleen, which indicates that these help with the immune system functions.

The third thing is the enzymes, which are used to break the cannabis down once they’ve managed to carry out the functions at hand.

Managing Pain with the ECS

The ECS is vital for a lot of pain regulation, since it can activate the receptors within. Medical cannabis has over 100 different cannabinoids, and when they get ingested, the ECS helps to regulate along with transport them throughout your body. phytocannaboinoids found within your ECS are very important also can be used to help with binding the receptors directly towards the body, enhancing the current system, and also influencing the current functions of the system too.

Some studies say as well that two types of different chemicals, AEA along with 2-AG, also do help with suppressing pain. some studies have found that cannabis, along with cannabinoid receptors, are great for neuropathic pain that’s within a person. It’s good not just for relieving pain within humans, but also for managing this in a lot of cases, and it can be used as well as a means to substitute out the need for pain meds and opioids, both of which can be highly addictive and can also cause possible addiction, overdose, and other problems too.

Medical cannabis does help with pain management as well of the following:

  • Seizures

  • Headaches

  • Anxiety

  • Spasms of muscles

  • Insomnia

  • Depression

  • Tremors

As you can see, from all of this, you can use this as a vital tool for the management and handling of pain within the body.

If you’re someone who has a lot of issues with pain management and would like to experience relief today, then you’re not alone. You can get relief through the use of medical cannabis today.

Talk to a doctor and see if they can help today!

Does the Strain of Cannabis Matter?

One thing that you’ll learn with the consumption of medical cannabis, is that not every strain is equal. The correct strains provide the best relief for a variety of conditions.  All strains have different types of products that do go through different testing to tell you just how much CBD and THC there is within each of these, in order to improve the understanding that each strain offers, and the ways that it benefits people. There are so many strains that are out there.

Currently, there is almost an unlimited number of cannabis strains, with different characteristics

Does the CBD and THC Matter

If you’ve been curious about CBD and THC, you’re not alone.

These are but two of the compounds that work with other people, to create the synergistic effect known to be the entourage effect, which allows you to differentiate from one different strain to the next. The biggest thing is the terpenes that are made, which help the doctor prescribe the strain.

What are Terpenes though

Terpenes are basically a part of the cannabis plant and are parts of a lot of plants.

While most terpenes get seen in small amounts, they do have some that are a lot more prominent, offering diverse types of ways for this to work, offering therapeutic effects that also change the mood, and help out the person too.

Sometimes, your doctor will choose strains based on the types of profiles of terpenes that are there which offer different effects. Some specialists will look into strains that combine different characteristics that treat different ailments, making it better for the person who wants to make sure that they get the most out of the terpenes that are there.

How to choose the right terpenes

The best thing to do, when choosing cannabis that works for you, is to talk to a doctor, to find out the ideal terpenes to try. Many of these systems actually have algorithms that you can use to figure out the right type of cannabis to use.

Many times, the algorithm can help with the decisions on prescribing based on information collected in the evaluation that happens initially.  Sometimes, there are people who come in and talk about strains that they’ve used that contain certain amounts of both THC and CBD content, and they may use that information to recommend something that’s similar to the, based on what they’ve used before.

But the thing with cannabis is that it’s different for everyone. Some people have certain strains that are very good for them, and others have strains that do the opposite for them, and that all plays a major part in the success, or even failure, of the types of cannabis products that are there.

You do need to talk to a specialist to discuss this, especially since they can tell you the best options, and give you a treatment plan that’s based on the types of problems that you have. they also may give you a plan for treatment that spans a few months, since a lot of times, they’ll be able to determine through all of this the best way to treat pain.

Remember though, it might not be the right choice right away. Remember too, that while you might be similar to another person, the types of cannabis to consume may also vary. If you’re still not sure whether or not medical cannabis is ideal for you, or if you have questions on this, you should talk to a doctor, and figure out the ideal types of strains to use.

Is Mixing Cannabis and LSD Safe

Weed and LSD are two drugs that people like to mix, but the thing is, it’s something that may be dangerous for people, since it does impact the way you make decisions, and also, there is a chance that there may be a deadly overdose in the case of LSD.  LSD is also not safe for those who have psychoses, so you should be mindful of that.

What LSD Is

LSD is short for lysergic acid diethylamide, which is a very strong drug that comes from a fungus that’s on grains and rye.  It’s a very potent drug that’s usually known as mellow yellow, or acid.  This is one that's odorless and doesn’t have a color either.

This is a very powerful drug that’s known to cause emotions that are positive, and negative too, in some cases major paranoia depending on who you are.

It’s illegal to have or sell, but it’s been studied for a variety of benefits that are therapeutic, and in some places, they’ve started to look at how, in small amounts, you can treat psychiatric issues, and also alcoholism with this drug.

This is consumed by the mouth in little dots, cubes, or in a liquid form. Some feel it 20 minutes after, and the effects usually start to peak around 3 hours in. This is usually pleasant for people, as they may have some good dreams, and euphoria, but bad trips do happen, which cause hallucinations and major mood swings.

LSD also does work with the serotonin receptors, and while it’s good when regulated, too much of it actually causes serotonin syndrome, which is actually a cause of death for people. But, if it’s balanced, it can feel good. It’s not as addictive as heroin or opioids, but there is a chance for you to take too much, get addicted but it’s rare to have an overdose that’s fatal.

Benefits and Risks

The biggest reason people are able to combine these two is that they do feel good, and some do find that they make the effects a lot better and offer a high that’s much more potent. The combination of these drugs at lower levels is pretty safe, but it’s not really recommended due to the possibility of risks.

Some may use weed at the end of the trip that they have with LSD in order to make it a bit longer, and also, it might help them with sleeping.  You can also use this to reduce the cluster headaches when properly dosed.

The risks of this though usually are make the side effects of marijuana a lot more potent, and they include:

  • Dry mouth

  • Memory loss

  • Pupils dilated

  • Insomnia

  • Concentration problems

  • Anxiety

  • Paranoia

  • Behavior that’s erratic

The biggest risk that this has though, is judgment.  When you’re under the influence of both of these, bad decisions are made. If you’re paranoid for example, and you use some weed, it could put your blood pressure to higher levels, and it can make things worse.

The biggest thing to understand is that you should always be careful if you’re going to mix any hallucinogen with cannabis, including magic mushrooms and other types.  Marijuana is good on tis own, but you also have to remember that possession of LSD is illegal all over, and it’s also a bit dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. Some people have bad trips and episodes too, even on their first go, so it’s something that you should be mindful of. In general, you shouldn’t ever mix both of these.
